Print Your Printables

print your printables

Thank you for purchasing from Made by a Princess Parties in Style!

You’re probably wondering what to do with this PDF you purchased right? I can help you with that! I have answered many questions over the years but probably the most common question is, “What do I do now?!” I put this page together to answer your questions and make the process easier for you. If you purchased the 40th Birthday Set I have a whole post dedicated to printing the those 40th birthday printables so after you browse this page you can head over there.

First things first. Open the file on your desktop. Once in awhile I’ll get an email from someone saying they can’t view it or it isn’t attached because they are trying to look on their phones. Some phones will let you, others will not. It is best to open and review on a desktop computer or laptop. This is my suggestion…

  • Download the file/s to your desktop
  • Open the file/s with the latest version of Adobe Reader
  • Review the file/s for errors or any corrections that need to be made
  • If all looks good, you can start printing

Required Software

In order to open the PDF you must have the latest version of Adobe Reader. If you do not already have this installed you can download it for free at www.adobe.com. You must have this in order for the PDF to open.

Copyright & Password

All of my copyrighted files are password protected. If you or your printer receive a message asking for a password, you/they are trying to access or alter the file in a manner I did not intend. The password will not be provided.

WinZip

At times I will send multiple files in a compressed folder that will need to be “unzipped” or extracted due to the size of the files. If this is the case download the folder to your desktop, right click the folder, and click “extract here”. Most computers already come equipped with the ability to open zipped folder but if yours does not you can download WinZip for free at www.winzip.com.

Some common questions…

Can I print at home?

Yes! You can print them from home as long as you have a good color printer. Unless I have a large print job I print at home all the time. I suggest using heavy cardstock for invitations, banners, cupcake toppers, thank you notes, shower games, inserts, raffle tickets, or welcome signs whenever possible. I personally use bright white linen but that is just personal preference.  For water bottles and lip gloss I prefer waterproof labels. I have included a list below of my favorite tools and paper selections.

Please remember this is intended for PERSONAL single use only as stated in my terms and conditions. Event planners/stylists you may use the product for a single event. If you need to use the file for another event, personal or otherwise, you must re-purchase the product.

All of my files are formatted to fit on standard 8.5″ x 11″ paper. Unless specifically requested, invitations come with two on a page.  Make sure to check your printer settings. Many times the default settings are not ideal for printing images. Make sure “borderless” printing is turned off and “fit to frame” is unchecked depending on what type of printer you have. Also, use the “best photo” setting and let your printer know what kind of paper you are using. I have the HP Envy 7640 so when I print an invitation I choose “best” under “Quality” and “other matte inkjet papers” under “Paper Type” when I print invitations. Another common problem is scaling. Make sure “page scaling” is set to “none.”

Can I print them at Walgreens?

No, you will not be able to upload the file/s to any place like Walgreens, Costco, Walmart, or any place that require JPGs. As stated in my terms and conditions, all of my standard listings are PDFs only. You will need to find a place that prints PDFs (lots of places do) as I will not provide JPGs under any circumstances. This is clearly covered in the terms and conditions as well as in the item description.

Where can I have them printed?

You can take them to a local print shop like Staples, Office Depot, or FedEx Kinkos.

What kind of tools will I need to put them together at home?

Once you’ve printed your invitations you will need A7 envelopes and something to cut them with. You can use scissors but I highly suggest using a paper cutter. I also couldn’t live without glue dots, a bone folder, ruler, corner punch, double stick tape, hole punch, lollipop sticks for cupcake toppers, small sharp scissors, quick dry glue, and a glue gun. If you are feeling crafty you can embellish them with glitter glue, hot fix rhinestones, ribbon, washi tape, and twine. Have fun with it!

What if my date changed, we moved the location, we need to add a hostess, or I forgot to include something? Can you fix that? Is there a charge?

Yes, I can fix that and yes, there is a charge. Once your final file has been sent, any changes outside of errors I have made will require a revision fee. Revision fees begin at $6.  Due to space on my server, I only keep files for 3 days so three days after files are sent it is purged from my system. If you let me know 7 days later that you need a change, my error or not, you will have to repurchase the file. I really really don’t want that to happen. I truly don’t. Chances are if you are reading this you have read the email and the file and you are in good shape and you don’t have to worry about any of that!
