DIY Personalized Christmas Gift Bags

Last week I found these adorable party favor bags in the Dollar Spot at Target. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going to do with them but I quickly snatched up eight of them! They had other designs but these were the only blank ones.

Lucky for me there is a Michael’s in the same shopping center as Target so I usually head over there after my Target run. Last week the staff at Michael’s was busily putting out all of the Christmas merchandise so of course my daughter and I had to check out the ornaments.

We found the cutest ornaments for some of our friends and they were all 50% off! As we filled our shopping cart with ornaments I realized that the little treat bags I found would make the perfect Christmas gift bags!

Supplies for Mini Gift Bags

Here is what you need to make these darling personalized mini treat bags:

How to Make Personalized Christmas Gift Bags

The first thing you need to do is create your designs. You can use Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Studio to design your iron on decal.

The font I used for this project is October Twilight.

Once you have cut out and weeded your design, preheat the fabric gift bag using your Cricut EasyPress Mini. Set the machine to Medium and apply light pressure for 5 seconds.

While the fabric bag is still warm, place iron on vinyl image on the small gift bag.

Apply light pressure for 25 seconds on each section you are ironing.

In a matter of minutes you have the cutest custom Christmas goody bag ready to fill and give as a holiday gift!

No Gift Wrapping Needed

No need to bust out the gift wrapping or paper bags because once you fill your personalized mini Christmas treat bag you’re all set! You can find inexpensive and colorful paper shred at your local dollar store.

This one is ready for my friend Andrea. I found the perfect gift for her…a bacon ornament! She loves my Man Candy candied bacon and I now make a batch for her every year for her birthday.

This pretty little mermaid will be going to my friend, Lisa. I actually think she is going to like the bag better because it was made just for her.

Don’t forget your kids’ teachers!! Make them their own custom and unique personalized Christmas gift bag and fill it with their favorite candy or ornament from their favorite student!

I am so happy with the way these custom Christmas gift bags came out and they took no time at all. I made six bags in less than 30 minutes from design to completion. Scooch on over to Target to pick up these cute bags for $1 each or order some plain ones from Amazon. Either way, your family, friends, and teachers are going to adore because they are made with LOVE!

If you are in the market for a new Cricut this Christmas check out my post all about how to use your Cricut for the first time. You can also read about how to use the Cricut EasyPress which is so easy and fun! I’ve created quite a few projects with my new toys!

Other Uses for Personalized Gift Bags

These aren’t just for Christmas…you could easily make awesome favor bags for a bachelorette party, baby shower, Sweet 16, birthday party, or bridal shower. They cost less than $1.25 each to make which is such a deal for something unique and completely custom. Fill them with party supplies from places like Birthday in a Box, Oriental Trading Company, or Party City.
